What electrical work do we organise?

We organise both small electrical jobs and larger installations in flats, houses, commercial premises and the shared areas of apartment buildings. Typical jobs include fixing a fault, adding a new socket or replacing an old consumer unit with a modern one.

A consumer unit, or distribution board, is where the power supply enters a home or building and is split into separate circuits through fuses or breakers. Older boards often have rewireable fuses and no residual current device (RCD), which cuts the power if current leaks to earth from an appliance or cable. Replacing the board improves safety and makes it easier to add new circuits later, for example for an induction hob or a charger.

If electrical work is part of a larger renovation, such as a bathroom or full flat refurbishment, it can be combined with our Renovation and construction works service so everything runs to one schedule.

When should you call an electrician?

Always call an electrician when there are signs of a fault, overload or hazard in the electrical system. Electrical problems are not a DIY job, because a wrong connection can cause an electric shock or a fire.

Typical reasons to call an electrician: - a fuse, breaker or RCD keeps tripping - a socket or switch gets hot, sparks or smells of burning - lights flicker or part of the flat has no power - you want extra sockets, lighting or a new circuit - an old consumer unit needs replacing - you are planning to install an EV charger

If all the breakers are on but there is still no power, first check whether there is a local network outage. For emergencies we try to find an electrician on the same day where possible.

How does ordering electrical work work?

Ordering electrical work is simple: you describe the problem or what you need, and we organise the rest. All communication goes through one contact.

1. Send an enquiry by phone, email or the form. A photo of the consumer unit or the problem area is very helpful. 2. We confirm the property, access and urgency. 3. We find a partner electrician with the right qualifications and agree a time. 4. The electrician assesses the situation, carries out the agreed work and tests the installation. 5. You receive a summary of the work and an invoice. Larger jobs, such as a board replacement or charger installation, are preceded by a written quote.

The contractor and the contracting party are specified in the quote or contract.

What affects the price of electrical work?

An electrician call-out starts from 65 euros. The final price depends on the scope of work, materials and how long it takes to locate the fault.

The main price factors are: - the type of job, for example fitting one socket versus replacing a whole consumer unit - the age and condition of the wiring - whether cables are surface-mounted or chased into the wall - materials such as breakers, RCDs, cables and light fittings - for chargers, the distance from the board and whether the grid connection capacity needs to be increased - urgency and work outside normal working hours

For larger jobs you always receive a quote before work begins, so the decision stays with you.

Electrical work for apartment associations and businesses

An apartment association (KÜ) is generally responsible for the building's shared electrical installations, such as the main board, stairwell lighting, basement and risers, while each owner is responsible for the wiring inside their flat. The exact boundary depends on the association's agreements.

For KÜ boards and property managers we organise stairwell and outdoor lighting repairs, upgrades to shared boards, motion sensor installation and preparation for an inspection of the electrical installation. For some installations the law requires periodic technical inspection. Whether this applies to your building depends on the type of installation and the size of the main fuse, so it is worth checking. Routine checks can be combined with our Technical property maintenance service. For businesses we schedule work to disrupt daily operations as little as possible.

Registration and service area

In Estonia, electrical work is a regulated activity: a company needs a notification of economic activity and the work must be managed by a competent person. Kiirhaldus24 OÜ holds a notification for electrical works (Elektritööd) in the Register of Economic Activities (MTR), number TEL003775. The details can be checked through the public MTR search.

Frequently asked questions

How much does an electrician cost in Tallinn?

An electrician call-out ordered through Kiirhaldus24 starts from 65 euros. The final price depends on the type of job, how long it takes and the materials. Replacing a socket, for example, is much simpler than replacing a whole consumer unit. If you send photos with your enquiry, we can give an initial estimate faster. For larger jobs we prepare a written quote before work begins.

When does a consumer unit need replacing?

Replacing the consumer unit makes sense if it still has old rewireable fuses, has no RCD, gets warm or trips frequently. It is also worth considering when you add powerful new appliances, such as an induction hob, a heat pump or an EV charger. The electrician will assess on site whether upgrading the board is enough or whether the wiring also needs checking.

Can you install an EV charger?

Yes, we organise EV charger installation for detached and terraced houses and for apartment building car parks. Before installation the electrician assesses the existing connection capacity, the distance from the board and how the cable will be run. If capacity is insufficient, you may need to apply to the network operator for a larger connection. For an association car park, the association's consent or decision is usually required as well.

Why does my RCD keep tripping?

An RCD trips when it detects current leakage, often caused by a faulty appliance, moisture in a socket or a damaged cable. Try unplugging appliances and switching the RCD back on. If it stays on, plug the appliances back in one at a time. If it trips even with nothing plugged in, call an electrician, as the fault may be in the wiring.

Can I do electrical work myself?

Electrical work in Estonia is regulated and should be carried out by a company with the relevant notification of economic activity and a competent person managing the work. Swapping a light fitting or socket may look easy, but a wrong connection creates a risk of shock and fire and may affect your insurance. It is safer to order the job from an electrician who also tests the installation.
